Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg carrot(s), sliced
- 60 g butter
- 30 g sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp ginger root, very finely chopped or grated

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Side dish to meat and fish dishes
Place the carrot slices (I cut them about a centimeter thick) in a sufficiently large pan. They should lie in a single layer. Cover with water. Arrange the butter pieces on top and sprinkle with sugar. Add a little salt. Bring to a boil, sprinkle with ginger, and let the water evaporate completely. After 15-20 minutes, the water will have evaporated and the carrots will be cooked. Toss the carrots in the pan and serve.
