Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
potato pancakes
Peel the potatoes and grate them on a coarse grater; alternatively, you can use a centrifuge. Add the egg, the cup of quark, and the bread roll that has been soaked in water. Season the mixture with salt and caraway seeds and mix well. Heat a pan and grease it with linseed oil. If you don’t like linseed oil, you can of course use a different oil. Using a ladle, add the mixture in small portions to the hot pan and fry on both sides, as desired. Applesauce, for example, goes well with this. Note from Chefkoch.de: Linseed oil is considered a very high-quality vegetable oil because it is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are destroyed when heated to high temperatures and partly converted into harmful trans fatty acids. The linseed oil not only loses its flavor but also its health benefits.
