Gooseberry jam à la Gabi

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,000 g gooseberries
  • 750 g gelling sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Remove the blossom and stem from the gooseberries. Split the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Chop the gooseberries with a hand blender or mince them. Then mix with the preserving sugar. Add the vanilla pod and seeds, bring to a boil, and continue to simmer for 8-10 minutes. Test for settling. Remove the vanilla pod. Pour the jam into prepared jars and seal immediately.
