Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g quark
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar, if you don’t like it so sweet, use 1 tbsp
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 packets of baking powder
  • 500 g flour
  • Margarine for the mold
  • Breadcrumbs for the form
  • some milk for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Quark bread

Mix the quark, eggs, and milk together, then add the sugar, salt, flour, and baking powder and mix well. Grease a loaf pan with margarine and sprinkle in a little breadcrumbs. Empty out the loose breadcrumbs. Pour in the batter and smooth it out. Bake at 175 degrees Celsius for 1 hour. To prevent it from overbrowning, brush the cake with a little milk after half an hour. Let the cake cool for an hour before slicing.
