Grandma's mayonnaise

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper
  • 1 dash of lemon juice
  • ¼ liter of oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Important! Before you begin, remove all ingredients from the refrigerator and then ensure they are at room temperature! Combine the whole egg, mustard, salt, and pepper in a small bowl and mix with a mixer. Slowly add the oil while stirring, stirring until the mixture thickens. Then season with lemon and, if desired, salt and pepper. If it doesn’t work, it might be because the oil isn’t right; it’s better to use a higher quality one, which will definitely make it thicker! For further processing, we recommend mixing this mixture with sour cream. Tips for barbecue sauces! Cocktail sauce: Mix the above mayonnaise with sour cream and ketchup, add a little (1 tsp) horseradish, and season with a little cognac! Herb sauce: Mix the above mayonnaise with sour cream, add various herb mixtures, and you’re done! Surprise sauce: Mix the above mayonnaise with sour cream, add onion, paprika, herbs, and sour cream to your liking. (Different each time, and always a surprise)
