Grandma's milk bread

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg flour, smooth
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 ½ packs of yeast
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 120 g butter, liquid
  • ¾ liter of warm milk (approximate amount)
  • Lemon(s), zest, to taste
  • Raisins to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Breakfast bread

Knead all ingredients with a mixer, adding enough milk so the dough starts to pull away from the bowl. Cover the dough in a bowl and let it rise three times (about an hour). Then shape into loaves, brush with a little milk, and bake at 170°C on a baking sheet lined with baking paper for about half an hour. Depending on the size of the loaves, this will yield 4-6 loaves. Anything your heart desires is suitable for topping: jam, Nutella, honey, etc.
