  • 375 g sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup milk, lukewarm
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

  • possibly cocoa
  • possibly nuts
  • possibly almond(s)
  • possibly pudding powder (chocolate flavor)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Basic recipe for several cakes

Mix together the margarine, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Add the egg yolks, milk, salt, flour, and baking powder, and mix everything together. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold in at the end. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (convection oven at 180°C) for about 60 minutes. You can make marble cake with this recipe; simply mix half of the batter with a little cocoa or add a sachet of chocolate pudding powder. For a nut cake, stir in 200g of ground nuts and add a little more milk to give the batter a nice consistency. If you need it really quickly, simply stir in all the eggs without making the beaten egg whites. I’ve done that before, and it worked well.
