Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 schnitzels
- some clarified butter
- salt and pepper
- 250 g minced meat, mixed
- 1 medium-sized onion(s), diced
- 200 g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 can of chopped tomatoes, 425 ml
- 200 ml gravy
- 1 clove(s) garlic, finely diced
- 1 tsp Italian herbs, dried
- 150 g cheese, grated
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes
Season the schnitzel and fry in hot clarified butter for several minutes on each side. Place in a casserole dish. Brown the minced meat in the frying fat (add a little more clarified butter if necessary) until crumbly, sauté the diced onion until translucent, and briefly fry the sliced mushrooms. Add the diced tomatoes and garlic, deglaze with the cooking juices, and season with the herbs. Simmer for a few minutes. Pour the sauce over the schnitzel, sprinkle with cheese, and bake in the oven at 180°C (convection oven) for 30-40 minutes. Serve with tagliatelle or spaghetti.
