Greek Bifteki with Yogurt
The perfect greek bifteki with yogurt recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
for the filling:
- 1 Pc. Onion, finely chopped
- 1 Pc. Pressed garlic clove
- 1 Pc. Egg
- 150 g Natural yoghurt
- Salt pepper
- 2 tsp Dried herbs, e.g. thyme, oregano etc.
- 2 tbsp Breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp Freshly chopped parsley
- 1 tsp Gyros spice
- Oil for frying
- 150 g Sheep cheese
- Put the minced meat in a bowl and knead well with the other ingredients with your hands.
- Cut the sheep’s cheese into long strips. Divide the minced dough into approx. 5 portions. Press flat with your hand, place a strip of sheep’s cheese on top and close the dough all around. Press the filled Bifteki a little flat and into shape.
- Fry on both sides in heated oil in a pan. Alternatively, bake in the oven at 200 degrees.
- This fits e.g. Greek coleslaw, french fries, djuvec rice, ajvar, tzatziki, salad etc …
