Ingredients
 

for the filling:

  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Pressed garlic clove
  • 1 Egg
  • 150 g Natural yoghurt
  • Salt pepper
  • 2 tsp Dried herbs, e.g. thyme, oregano etc.
  • 2 tbsp Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp Gyros spice
  • Oil for frying
  • 150 g Sheep milk cheese

Instructions
 

  • Put the minced meat in a bowl and knead well with the other ingredients with your hands.
  • Cut the sheep's cheese into long strips. Divide the minced dough into approx. 5 portions. Press flat with your hand, place a strip of sheep's cheese on top and close the dough all around. Press the filled Bifteki a little flat and into shape.
  • Fry on both sides in heated oil in a pan. Alternatively, bake in the oven at 200 degrees.
  • This fits e.g. Greek coleslaw, french fries, djuvec rice, ajvar, tzatziki, salad etc ...
