The perfect greek style peppers >> recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 100 g Long grain rice
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • 2 tbsp Cold pressed olive oil
  • 180 g Minced lamb or freak yourself out
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste concentrated three times
  • Pepper
  • 1 pinch Ground cumin
  • 2 Bay leaf fresh
  • 2 tsp Dried oregano
  • 3 Bell peppers (red, yellow, green)
  • 120 g Sheep cheese
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Can Pizza tomatoes
  • 2 tsp Mediterranean herbs dried
  • 200 ml Vegetable broth
  • Salt
  1. Cook rice in boiling salted water with bay leaf. Peel onion and garlic and chop finely. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onion and garlic. Add the minced meat (I put the lamb fillet through the meat grinder) and fry it until crumbly. Season with tomato paste, salt, pepper, cumin and oregano and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Cut a lid off the top of the pepper. Separate the seeds and the white dividers and wash the peppers.
  3. Mix rice and meat mixture in a bowl. Add the egg and the crumbled sheep’s cheese. Season again with salt and pepper and fill the peppers with the mixture.
  4. Put the pizza tomatoes in a baking dish. Mix with salt, pepper and the Mediterranean spices and the broth. Put the peppers in, put the lids on and cook in the oven at 160 ° C for about 45 minutes.
