Greek tomato rice with shredded meat

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g pork strips
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 tomato(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 70 g tomato paste
  • 3 tsp gyro seasoning
  • some milk
  • salt and pepper
  • Cayenne pepper
  • some broth
  • 100 g crème fraîche
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Cook the rice with a little broth according to the package instructions. Season the meat with salt and pepper and brown it in a pan with a little oil. Remove and set aside. Finely dice the onion and garlic, and chop the tomato. Sauté both in oil, then add the tomato pieces and fry briefly. Add the tomato paste, fry briefly, and deglaze with the milk. Add enough milk until the sauce has a nice consistency. Season with sweet paprika and gyro seasoning. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Finally, stir in the crème fraîche; the sauce should not be allowed to boil. Stir the meat and rice into the sauce.
