Greek white cabbage with rice and raisins

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 kg white cabbage (cut into pieces)
  • 1 onion(s) (cut into cubes)
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 handful of raisins
  • 1 handful of pine nuts
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • Salt

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Laxanorizo

Cut the white cabbage into pieces, wash it, and drain it in a sieve. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onion until translucent, then add the white cabbage, season with salt, and sauté briefly. Mix the tomato paste with a cup of water and add it to the white cabbage. Bring to a boil once, then add another cup of water. When the food starts to cook, add the rice and a little more salt (if needed), and let everything simmer over low heat. Just before the rice is done, add the pine nuts, raisins, and cinnamon stick. Bring everything back to a boil. Done!
