Green Bean Stew
The perfect green bean stew recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 kg Beans green fresh
- 1 kg Beef leg slices
- 3 Pc. Marrow bone
- 1 bunch Savory branch
- 8 piece Finely diced potatoes
- Salt
- Pepper
- Mugwort if you like
- Lovage if you like
- Wash the beans, drain them well, remove the ends (remove the threads if necessary).
- Rinse the beef leg slices and marrowbones under cold running water and place in a large saucepan. Cover well with cold water and bring to the boil. When it boils, turn the temperature down and let it simmer gently for about 2 hours. Every now and then check whether the meat falls off the fork (then it is done).
- In the meantime, chop the beans, peel the potatoes and dice them.
- When the meat is done, take it out of the pot and cut into small pieces and put back in the stock. Of course, take the bones out of the pot as well.
- Add the chopped beans, diced potatoes and the savory. Bring to the boil again. Let the whole thing cook for a good 30 minutes. The beans should still be firm to the bite.
- Now remove the savory and season well with the remaining seasonings.
- Can be super frozen. We now have 3 bean stews for 2 days.
