Green beans with tomatoes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g beans, green
  • 450 g tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp basil, fresh
  • olives
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Boil the beans in water for 3 minutes, drain, and briefly immerse them in ice water. Immerse the tomatoes in boiling water, peel, and dice them. Heat the oil in a pan, sauté the onion and garlic, sprinkle with sugar, and stir until the onions are translucent. Add the vinegar and cook for about 1 minute. Add the tomatoes, basil, olives, and pepper, and cook for 5 minutes. Finally, add the beans and heat briefly again. If you’re in a hurry, any can of tomatoes and beans will do (they don’t need to be cooked). This dish also makes a great main course for two with bread served.
