Green spelt patties

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 160 g green spelt meal
  • 160 g onion(s)
  • 40 g oat flakes, fine
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 120 g cheese (Edam, 30% fat), grated
  • 40 g margarine
  • 480 ml broth, defatted
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Dice the onions. Melt the margarine and sauté the diced onions until translucent. Add the green spelt meal and pour in the broth. Season with salt and pepper and let it swell in a covered pan over low heat for about 30 minutes. After this time, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool. Add the cheese, egg, oats, and parsley to the green spelt mixture. Season again with salt and pepper. Form the green spelt mixture into about 16 patties and fry them in a pan with the remaining margarine until golden brown on both sides.
