Grilled feta cheese with tomatoes and peppers

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 slices of feta cheese or sheep’s cheese
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • Pepper, pickled
  • Garlic
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • herbs, Italian
  • Paprika powder
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Prepare 4 pieces of aluminum foil for wrapping the cheese and spread a thin layer of olive oil on the bottom. Halve the two slices of feta or sheep’s cheese. Roughly dice each feta portion (approx. 2 x 2 cm, so the cheese cooks better on the grill) and place it on the aluminum foil. Season the cheese with Italian herbs, paprika, garlic, and pepper. Finely chop the tomatoes, bell peppers, and chili peppers and arrange them over the cheese until it is covered with a layer about 1-2 cm thick. This allows the juices from the vegetables to soak into the feta. The amount of tomatoes, bell peppers, and chili peppers can easily be adjusted to taste. It’s best to place them near the edge of the grill to prevent burning and cook for about 20 minutes. It tastes even better if you prepare the cheese the day before and let it sit.
