Grilled mackerel

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 m.-sized mackerel(s), ready to cook
  • Herbs, mixed, fresh
  • some butter
  • ½ half lemon(s), organic, sliced
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Chop the herbs and mix with butter. Season with pepper and salt and stuff the mackerel belly with the meat. Add two or three lemon slices. Place the mackerel lengthwise on the grill, with their backs facing the grill bars. Not directly in the center, but closer to the edges where it’s not too hot. If the fish still tends to tip over, you can secure it crosswise with a wooden skewer. We often also clamp two roulade clamps around the back to prevent it from tipping over. Grill for 8-10 minutes, depending on the size of the fish.
