Grilled pineapple

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 1 pineapple
  • some cane sugar
  • some rum

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the pineapple lengthwise, remove the peel and core. Cut into thin, long pieces and thread each onto a skewer. Marinate the skewers in rum and let them sit for 2 hours. (The longer they sit, the more intense the flavor.) Place the pineapple skewers on the grill; the pineapple should take on a nice yellow-brown color. Sprinkle the grilled pineapple with cane sugar. You can also pour the rum over it after grilling. The grill shouldn’t be too hot; we’ll do the grilled pineapple last.
