Grilled white asparagus with lamb

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 10 stalk(s) white asparagus (not too thick stalks)
  • 4 lamb steaks
  • 1 lemon(s), juice
  • 2 tsp butter
  • some salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Trim the white asparagus as usual. Place 5 asparagus spears each on a piece of aluminum foil with 1 teaspoon of butter and spread the teaspoon of butter over the asparagus. Sprinkle with a little salt and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Roll up the asparagus packet like a cracker and place it on the hot grill for about 5 minutes. Then let it rest for about 2 minutes. Check the firmness of the asparagus by pressing on the aluminum foil. Serve with the lamb steaks, seasoned to taste and cooked on the grill for about 2-4 minutes on each side, depending on their thickness. A grilled tomato and a potato bread from the baking sheet go perfectly with this. Note from the chef’s recipe editor: If you don’t want to use aluminum foil, use parchment paper or baking paper for the packets. If you use lemon juice and salt, this is recommended for health reasons.
