Ingredients for 10 servings:
- 1 kg gyros meat
- 3 cups of cream
- 200 ml milk
- 2 bags of soup (onion soup)
- 2 green bell peppers, diced
- 2 jars of Hungarian-style paprika sauce
- 1 bottle of chili sauce
- 1 cup crème fraîche
- 2 cans of corn
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 15 minutes
Brown the gyros, add milk and cream, and let it steep overnight (but this isn’t necessary). Prepare the onion soup according to the instructions and simmer the diced bell peppers (they can also be frozen). Then add the paprika sauce, chili sauce, crème fraîche, and corn, and you have a delicious soup. The recipe can be halved if desired and is ideal as a main meal for the whole family. My children love this soup. Serve it with fresh flatbread. I’ve found that the soup tastes better if you make it a day in advance, so it can steep nicely.
