Ham and cheese croissants

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g puff pastry, frozen
  • 100 g medium-aged Gouda, finely diced
  • 100 g cooked ham, finely diced
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp onion(s), finely diced
  • pepper
  • oregano
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Preheat the oven to 200-220 degrees Celsius (top/bottom heat). Thaw the frozen puff pastry thoroughly and roll out the sheets. Cut each sheet into two triangles with two long sides. Mix all of the filling ingredients together and place 1 tablespoon of the filling on each triangle. Cut a slit in the short side of the triangle and loosely roll the triangles into croissants. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush with the beaten egg yolk. Let rest for 15 minutes and then bake on the middle rack for 15-20 minutes. The baking time varies depending on the oven and the desired degree of browning. Serve the croissants warm (not hot).
