Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp butter, soft
  • 280 ml water, lukewarm
  • Flour for the work surface
  • 2 garlic cloves or some garlic powder
  • 70 g butter, soft
  • 1 tsp salt
  • n. B. Pfeffer
  • 150 g cooked ham, in thin slices
  • 200 g Cheddar cheese, sliced, or other sliced ​​cheese

Instructions

Hearty pull-apart bread with spicy ham and melted cheddar, ideal for picnics.

Mix flour, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Add butter and water. Knead with the dough hook of a mixer for 5 minutes until smooth. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for about 45 minutes. Line a springform pan with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat) (160°C fan/convection oven). Knead the dough on a floured surface and then roll it out into a rectangle measuring 80 x 20 cm. Press the garlic into the butter, mix, and season with salt and pepper. Spread the seasoned butter thinly over the dough. Cut the dough widthwise into 16 thin strips. Top each strip with ham and cheese, leaving a slight overhang of ham. Loosely roll the strips and place the ham and cheese rolls upright in the pan with the ham side facing up. Bake the bread in the hot oven for about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on a wire rack. Tip: The bread is ideal for picnics and as a snack on the go.
