Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 slices of toast
  • 150 ml milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 50 g cooked ham
  • 50 g cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Pour the milk into a deep plate. Whisk the eggs in another deep plate. Finely dice the cooked ham. Soak the bread slices in the milk. Then dip one side of the slices into the beaten eggs. Place the bread slices egg-side down on a plate or board. Sprinkle four of the eight slices with ham and cheese. Place the other four slices egg-side up on top of the sprinkled slices and lightly press the edges together. Secure with toothpicks if desired. Melt the butter in a pan and fry the Pofesen on both sides until golden brown. Keep warm in the oven until ready to serve.
