  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup(s) water
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 4 cups flour (500 g)
  • 1 packet of dry yeast (7 g)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 egg(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Buns for homemade burgers. Makes about 6-8, depending on size.

The cup used as a measuring cup holds 250 ml. Heat the milk, water, and butter together in a saucepan until lukewarm (do not boil) until the butter has melted. Now add half of the flour, the dried yeast, the sugar, and salt and knead well. Add the egg and the rest of the flour and knead again. Let the dough rest in a warm place for about 30 minutes. During this time, the dough will increase in volume. Preheat the oven to 200 °C fan/convection oven. Shape the dough into the desired roll shape (e.g., by cutting out rolls with glasses) and bake for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Makes about 6-8 rolls, depending on the size. We have now adjusted the recipe in August 2020 based on the quantities stated in the comments.
