creamy power bomb
Add all ingredients to the blender. Add only the juice from the oranges; if they’re very large, one will do. Then set it to full power, occasionally pulse or shake the blender glass briefly, and blend until the smoothie is nice and creamy, but not warm. If your blender isn’t that powerful and can’t handle this, you can add more liquid or ice cubes to prevent the smoothie from getting warm. Pour into the glass, add the straws, garnish, and enjoy. A real vitamin bomb, especially in winter and early spring. Tastes so good, I’d skip any Coke. Important: mung bean sprouts only taste good in smoothies when they’re still very young, i.e., freshly germinated. The long sprouts from the Asian store don’t taste good. I grow the sprouts myself; mung beans are very quick and easy to grow. As soon as the first sprouts sprout, don’t waste much time; about 2-3 days, depending on the light. It’s best to try them first; they should be crunchy but not too hard, and wonderfully sweet. Alfalfa takes a little longer, about 6-7 days. But it’s worth it. The sprouts make the smoothie beautifully creamy.
