Healthy Pizza with Wakame Seaweed in Batter

The perfect healthy pizza with wakame seaweed in batter recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 10 g Wakame seaweed
  • 100 g Whole wheat flour
  • 100 g Rye flour
  • 0,5 tsp Salt (more depending on the topping)
  • 0,5 tsp Dry yeast
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 2,5 tsp Olive oil
  • 50 ml Water (a little more if required)
  • 4 tbsp Passed tomato sauce
  • Pizza seasonings
  • Cheese (if desired also mozzarella)
  • 1 Big tomato
  • 0,5 Red pepper
  • 0,5 Yellow pepper
  • 0,5 Red onion
  • 0,25 Aubergine
  • 0,25 Zucchini
  • 0,25 Corn
  1. Soak the wakame algae in water for 15 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, stir yeast into 50 ml lukewarm water. Let stand for 5 minutes until the mixture foams slightly.
  3. Add olive oil, honey and salt and stir. Gradually work in the flour with your hands or a hand mixer (with a dough hook). Add a little flour or water as needed.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball, sprinkle with a little flour in a bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes. The dough should then be about twice as big.
  5. In the meantime, you can cut the vegetables into small cubes and season the sauce with pizza spices such as thyme, basil, oregano and rosemary.
  6. Then knead the dough again and divide it into two equal portions. Now roll out both portions into two round pizzas. Alternatively, spread the dough over an entire baking sheet and bake a large pizza.
  7. Finally, cover the dough and bake at 250 ° C for about 15 minutes. The ingredients can be changed at will. For example a vegetable pizza and a tomato-mozzarella pizza.
