Healthy Snacks: 10 Delicious Ideas

Between meals in the form of snacks or small appetizers help you to bridge the time between the main meals. We show you 10 healthy and delicious snacks, including 5 savory and 5 sweet.

Healthy and hearty snacks – our recommendations for you

There are a variety of healthy and easy snacks to satisfy your cravings for hearty foods without resorting to traditional fast food.

  • Nuts: The classic healthy snacks are nuts. Just put a small bowl by your desk with a handful of nuts for a snack between meals. Ideally, the nuts should be unsalted.
  • Avocado: Avocados are also a healthy snack. Halve the fruit, sprinkle with a little salt and pepper and simply scoop the flesh straight out of the skin.
  • Hummus: Snip some carrot, pepper and cucumber veggie sticks and dip them in hummus. You will see: This snack will satisfy your appetite for hearty things.
  • Falafel: For a slightly richer snack, simply pair your hummus with some falafel balls. A pack of falafel is enough for 2 to 4 snacks, depending on your appetite.
  • Stulle: Top a crispbread or a slice of pumpernickel with either cottage cheese and cucumber slices or avocado and egg for a healthy and filling snack.

Sweet snacks – healthy and delicious

If you’re craving something sweet, there’s also a range of snacks and quick treats to fall back on.

  • Fruit: If you’re craving something sweet, snip an apple or have a bowl of berries ready. Frozen berries are a delicious and healthy alternative to ice cream in the summer.
  • Yogurt: For a creamy treat, simply mix your fruit with some yogurt. Add a small handful of muesli or nuts and your snack for in between is ready.
  • Chia pudding: If you don’t feel like yoghurt, simply replace it with a homemade chia pudding. Simply let 15 to 30 g of chia seeds swell with a little milk and add a topping of your choice to your finished chia pudding.
  • Bananas with nut butter: For a quick and full-bodied snack, dip a banana in your choice of nut butter. This snack tastes particularly delicious with peanut or hazelnut butter.
  • Green smoothie: For a deliciously creamy green smoothie, puree 1/2 banana, 1/2 avocado, 100g spinach or other lettuce, 1/2 zucchini or cucumber and 1 tbsp nut butter.
