Heart Cherry Cake from Tray
The perfect heart cherry cake from tray recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 kg Sweet cherries fresh from the neighbour’s tree
- 2 tbsp Kirsch
- 125 g Milk
- 25 g Yeast
- 300 g Flour
- 3 piece Egg, separated
- 60 g Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- You also need 1 baking sheet, some butter to brush on and some sugar to sprinkle on the sheet. Wash the cherries, remove the stems and core them. Tip: They can be removed better if they have been in the TK for a few minutes beforehand.
- Warm the milk slightly (lukewarm) and dissolve the yeast in it.
- Put the flour, 40 grams of sugar and a pinch of salt in a bowl, add the yeast milk and 3 egg yolks and stir to form a smooth dough. Let the dough rise at 40-50 degrees for about 25-30 minutes.
- Slowly beat the egg white together with the remaining sugar until stiff.
- As soon as the batter has risen, carefully fold in the cherries and egg whites.
- Brush the baking sheet with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Pour in the dough and bake in the oven at 180 degrees top / bottom heat (oven was preheated) for about 20 minutes.
