Hearty Bean Stew

The perfect hearty bean stew recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1,2 kg Beef meat fresh leg slice
  • 8 Pc. Mettenden
  • 800 g Kasseler
  • 600 g Cocktail sausages canned
  • 2 kg Peeled waxy potatoes

  • 1 bunch Soup greens fresh
  • 4 medium-sized Diced onion
  • 6 Pc. Garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 tsp Finely chopped savory
  • Beef bouillon
  • 1 tsp Porcini mushroom powder
  1. Put the leg slices, soup greens and the dried beans (various types) in a large pot (13 l) with 6-8 l water. In the meantime, cut the Kasseler (sections) into small pieces, pierce the meatballs, dice the potatoes and add to the pot. Season and cook for about 3 hours
  2. Cut the leg slices and the meatballs into small pieces. Dice onions and garlic and fry until golden at the end of the cooking time. When the soup is ready, add the onion-garlic mixture and the cocktail sausages (I always use self-service packaged). Stir and let steep without boiling
