Hearty Beans with Bacon …
The perfect hearty beans with bacon … recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 300 g Broad beans / runner beans
- 20 g Branded butter
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 50 g Bacon slices in strips
- 0,5 teaspoon Savory
- 2 Pinches Salt
- 1 pinch Black pepper from the mill
- 2 tablespoon Water
- Wash the beans, cut off the end and then cut in half with an oblique cut.
- Sear the butter and oil in a saucepan with the bacon strips, add the beans and sauté briefly, season with pepper, salt and savory.
- Add the water, put a lid on and cook the vegetables for about 12 to 15 minutes on a gentle heat (the beans should still have a light bite and still be cooked … please, make a cooking test).
- I served these bacon beans today with rice and a loin ragout. But they also tasted wonderful with marinated lamb!
