Hearty bread casserole with minced meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 8 slice(s) of dough (Duo Back)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 bell peppers, red and yellow
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tbsp herbs, frozen
  • 4 tbsp paprika paste
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • Cayenne pepper
  • 150 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Preheat electric oven to 200°C. Brush the bottom of a square baking dish with oil and line the bottom with four dark slices of Duo Back. Peel the onion, halve the bell peppers, trim and wash them, and finely dice them with the onion. Mix the diced onion and bell pepper with the minced meat, egg, herbs, and paprika paste, and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Spread half of the minced meat mixture on the bread, cover with four light slices of Duo Back, cover with the remaining minced meat mixture, and sprinkle with cheese. Bake the bread casserole for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown (electric oven at 200°C, gas mark 4, fan oven at 180°C) and serve hot.
