Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 400 g minced meat, mixed
- 1 onion(s)
- 6 egg yolks
- 1 flatbread(s)
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- 500 g yogurt
- 1 cup crème fraîche
- 8 tbsp olive oil
- ½ bunch chives, cut into rolls
- salt and pepper
- 16 cherry tomatoes
- some oregano, fresh or dried
- chili powder
- Paprika powder
- possibly breadcrumbs
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Knead the ground beef, 2 egg yolks, finely chopped onion, salt, pepper, paprika, and perhaps some breadcrumbs (if the dough is too wet) into a meat dough and form into about 10 equal-sized meatballs. Brown the balls in a pan with 2 tablespoons of olive oil for about 10 minutes. In the meantime, cut the flatbread into pieces (about 3cm) and place them in a baking dish rubbed with a clove of garlic. Toast in the oven at 250°C (grill) for about 4-5 minutes. Meanwhile, make a sauce with yogurt, crème fraîche, chives, oregano, salt, pepper, chili powder, 4 egg yolks, and the remaining olive oil. Season to taste. Now arrange the meatballs on the bread with tomatoes and pour the sauce over them. Bake at 160°C (convection oven) for about 20 minutes. This casserole is extremely filling and tastes great. You can vary it with peppers and olives or, if you prefer vegetarian dishes, with vegetables instead of minced meat.
