Dumplings – very quick
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Sauté the onion in the butter until translucent. Using the dough hook of a hand mixer or a wooden spoon, combine the flour, baking powder, eggs, milk, salt, and nutmeg to a fairly firm dough. Mix in the onion with the butter and herbs. Using a tablespoon, scoop out egg-shaped dumplings and simmer them in salted water for about 10 minutes. They will expand considerably. Just before serving, lightly tear the dumplings open with two forks to keep them light and airy. Serve immediately. If you like, you can also fry about 40g of bacon cubes with the onion – it also tastes delicious.
