Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 large fish (Matjeshering) OR
  • 2 fish fillets (matjes fillet)
  • 2 m.-sized jacket potatoes, cold
  • 1 large apple, sour
  • 1 egg(s), hard-boiled
  • 2 cucumber(s) (pickles)
  • 75 g bacon, streaky
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • 250 ml sour cream
  • possibly vinegar
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 15 minutes

gluten-free

Finely chop all solid ingredients (except the capers). I put all solid ingredients, except the capers, through a meat grinder. Pour the sour cream over the ingredients and mix gently. Let it simmer. (Prepare in the morning, eat in the evening). Season with vinegar and salt, if desired. This dish goes very well with potatoes or fresh bread and beer.
