Homemade bread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 800 g wheat flour type 550
  • 200 g whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cube of yeast (42 g)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 700 ml water to 750 ml

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

in the oven

Combine both types of flour with sugar and make a well. Dissolve the yeast in the salted water. Pour it into the well. Mix the mixture thoroughly and work it into a smooth dough with your hands. Place the dough in a bread pan or a bowl and place it in warm (not boiling) water for about 1 1/2 hours. Cover and place it in a warm place without drafts. The dough should at least double in height. Place the bread dough in the oven, either in the pan or by hand. Bake for about 1 hour at 200°C. The bread is done when it pulls away from the sides of the pan or is nicely browned. (My friend, who gave me the recipe, bakes the bread in the Ultra Plus 5.0 l Tupperware casserole dish. She pours the batter into the pan and places it in the warm water. When the dough reaches the sides of the pan, she places it in the oven uncovered. Here, too, the bread is done when it pulls away from the sides.)
