Homemade poppy seed paste

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g poppy seeds, ground
  • 125 g almonds, ground
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 180 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 shot of rum
  • 1 packet of vanilla pudding powder
  • ½ vanilla pod(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 13 minutes

Mix the vanilla pudding powder with 100 ml of milk. Bring the remaining milk to a boil with the vanilla pod, cinnamon, sugar, poppy seeds, and almonds. Remove the vanilla pod and add the vanilla pudding powder, then simmer gently for 3 minutes. Let the mixture cool and mix with the eggs and rum. I used this mixture to bake the poppy seed cake in the photo.
