Homemade Vanilla Sauce
The perfect homemade vanilla sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 ml Milk
- 1 Vanilla pod
- 4 tbsp Vanilla sugar
- 2 Eggs
- Cut the vanilla pod lengthways and scrape out the pulp with a knife.
- Put the vanilla pod and the vanilla pulp in a saucepan with the milk.
- The vanilla milk is allowed to boil once and then steep for another 15-20 minutes.
- Beat the eggs with the sugar until frothy and then slowly add to the milk, stirring constantly.
- Attention! The vanilla sauce must not be heated too much, otherwise the egg will curdle.
- Tip 6: Should the egg actually clot, a whisk / magic wand could help. You might be able to save something with this trick, but I haven’t had to test it on myself yet. But I would be happy to receive your feedback, although I do not wish anyone to do so.
