Hot cheese rolls with whiskey

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 rolls (rye)
  • 4 tbsp whiskey
  • 250 g cheese (cave)
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • black pepper
  • 1 egg(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut a flat top off each roll and hollow it out leaving only the firm edges. Drizzle half a teaspoon of whiskey into each roll. Crumble the cheese and melt it slowly on the stovetop with the crème fraîche and the remaining whiskey. Once the cheese mixture is smooth, stir in the mustard and season with pepper, then remove from the heat. Whisk the egg and fold it into the slightly cooled cheese mixture. Spread evenly among the rolls and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for approx. 20 minutes. Serve the rolls hot. If you prefer a slightly less whiskey flavor, use only 3 tablespoons.
