Hot chocolate with cayenne pepper

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 100 g chocolate, dark
  • 500 ml milk
  • 2 vanilla pods
  • 2 tbsp honey, (optionally 30 g cane sugar)
  • 10 g cayenne pepper
  • 2 g salt
  • 5 dl rum

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Guatemalan love potion

Heat the milk with the vanilla pods for 10 minutes, squeeze out the excess liquid, and grate the vanilla. Add the dark chocolate and dilute with 125 ml of lukewarm water. Then stir in the honey, cayenne pepper, a pinch of salt, and a shot of rum or tequila. Serve very cold or piping hot. You don’t have to stick rigidly to the quantities—you can vary them according to your taste. For example, I don’t need that much sugar/honey, otherwise it would taste too sweet.
