Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 vanilla pod(s) or 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 200 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 300 g flour
  • 100 g nuts, ground
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 150 g jam (e.g. cherry)
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes

Mix together the vanilla pod or vanilla sugar, butter, sugar, egg yolks, flour, and hazelnuts. Then wrap the dough in aluminum foil and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Roll the dough into a log (round roll). Cut approximately 2 cm thick slices from the roll and smooth the edges. Make a small hollow in the center for the jam. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the cookies on the middle rack until golden brown. Decorate the finished Husaren Krapferl in the hollow with the warmed jam. Finally, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
