Iceberg lettuce as a vegetable

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • ½ iceberg lettuce, cut into strips
  • a little clarified butter, for brushing the pan
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • little water
  • a little curry powder
  • a little vanilla powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Heat a pan and brush with butter. Fry the lettuce strips over moderate heat, seasoning with salt and pepper. Deglaze with a little water and cover. Sauté for about 5 minutes until tender. Sprinkle with curry powder and vanilla powder and season. The flavor shouldn’t be too strong! The vegetables are delicious with fish or as a side dish to meat dishes; other firm salads can also be prepared this way.
