Indentation in Foil Packaging: That’s What It’s For

Many foil packages, such as aluminum foil or cling film, have indentations at both ends. You can find out what these are intended for in this home tip.

This is what the indentations in foil packaging are for

  • Foil packaging of aluminum or cling film almost always has indentations or perforations on the side ends.
  • These can be pressed in with your finger so that they grip the inner roller.
  • This prevents the roll from falling out of the packaging when you unroll the film.
