Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 ciabatta
- 5 tomatoes
- 4 leaves basil, fresh
- 2 garlic cloves
- oregano
- Salt
- pepper
- olive oil
- Cheese, grated
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
First, halve the ciabatta horizontally and then cut it into slices of any size (the amount of ingredients varies depending on the size of the slice). Quarter the tomatoes, deseed them, and dice them. Then place them in a bowl. Finely chop the basil and add it to the tomatoes. Do the same with the garlic. Mix the tomato, basil, and garlic mixture together and season with salt, pepper, and oregano (I recommend adding a little more salt, as the tomatoes can handle a fair amount of salt). Stir the mixture again and add a little olive oil. The mixture shouldn’t be drenched in olive oil, however. Each ingredient should only be just coated with a film of oil. Stir everything again and then spread the mixture generously on the ciabatta. If desired, add a few drops of oil to the ciabatta beforehand. Now sprinkle grated cheese over the mixture (if you want to cook more Italian-style, you can also tear up mozzarella and sprinkle it on top). Then place the whole thing in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat). Check after 8-10 minutes. Depending on how the cheese has melted, you can now remove it from the oven and serve.
