Jam Mix

The perfect jam mix recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Black currants
  • 650 g Rhubarb
  • 100 g Banana
  • 1 packet Preserving sugar 2: 1
  1. Remove stems and flowers from black currants and wash thoroughly.
  2. Peel the rhubarb and cut into pieces about 1 cm wide. I still had some (my own harvest) in the freezer, it was already prepared.
  3. Peel the banana and cut into pieces. The ratio of the fruits is specially chosen because the currants are very dominant.
  4. Mix and put everything in a sufficiently large saucepan, mix with the preserving sugar and leave to juice for about an hour.
  5. Now bring to a boil. Chop the fruits with a blender. Bring to the boil again for approx. 4 minutes. I like it when there are still bits in it.
  6. Pour everything hot into clean jars prepared for this purpose, close and let cool upside down.
  7. Very tasty for breakfast!
