You need this for a homemade plum jam
The list of ingredients for the delicious spread is manageable.
- You need 2 kg of pitted plums to cook about 10 jars of jam.
- Add 660 g of preserving sugar.
- You will also need the juice of one lemon.
- You should have a blender, a saucepan, and glasses with screw caps to hand.
Make yellow plum jam yourself – that’s how it works
If you have everything together, making Mirabelle jam is very easy.
- First, wash the plums thoroughly and remove the stones. In the end, you should now have 2 kg of fruit.
- Puree the fruit with the hand blender. If you would like a few pieces of fruit in the jam, do not chop the fruit so finely.
- Put the mirabelle plums in a saucepan and stir in the weighed-out jam sugar. Boil the mixture while stirring.
- As soon as the sauce is boiling, add the lemon juice. The jam is now allowed to simmer for about 5 minutes.
- You can tell if the jam is ready by testing it to set. To do this, put a little jam on a chilled plate. After about two minutes, the mass should be thick or firm.
- Now you can fill the finished jam into the sterilized jars and close them. Turn the jars upside down to cool.
- Tip: Label the jars with the contents and the date.
- Gift idea: Use beautiful labels to write on and fix a piece of pretty fabric with a rubber band, have a personal gift for friends, or a souvenir for the next invitation.
