Jan's Bavarian Hot Dog

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 white sausages, real Bavarian with tender skin
  • 4 pretzel sticks
  • 1 tube(s) mustard, sweet
  • butter
  • 4 radishes
  • 4 sprigs of parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 7 minutes; Total time approx. 17 minutes

A recipe gift for my son Jan, who was born in Munich.

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the white sausages and immediately turn off the heat (white sausages should not boil). Let them simmer for about 5-7 minutes. Cut the pretzel sticks open on the sides, but do not cut all the way through. Carefully unfold and butter. Place a white sausage into each pretzel stick, spread with mustard, and sprinkle with chopped radishes. Add a sprig of parsley – done. Tip: I recommend the sweet Händelmeier mustard from the tube and Zimmermann white sausages – with a hint of lemon flavor. Serve with a good Bavarian beer.
