Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 10 potatoes
- 2 onions
- 20 anchovies from the can
- 300 ml milk
- breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp butter

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
Jansson’s Frestelse
Peel the potatoes and onions and either slice or coarsely grate the potatoes. Finely chop the onions or cut them into rings, and fry for 5 minutes. Layer the potatoes, anchovies, and onions in a greased dish, starting with the potatoes and ending with the potatoes. Pour half of the milk and 2-3 tablespoons of anchovy stock into the dish, drizzle with butter, and finally sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Bake in the oven at 225°C for 45 minutes, spreading the remaining milk around the edges towards the end of the baking time. Serve with bread, butter, and cheese, along with a mixed salad.
