Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 120 g butter or margarine
- 120 g sugar
- 180 g flour
- 1 bag of vanilla sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- ½ bag(s) of baking powder, some milk if needed
- 5 egg whites
- 150 g sugar
- 1 bag(s) almonds, sliced
- Process 2 jars of applesauce or 5 kg of apples into applesauce
- 3 bags of cake glaze, light
Instructions
Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes
Cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy, then gradually add the egg yolks. Stir in the flour with the baking powder and, if desired, a little milk. Spread the mixture onto a greased and floured baking sheet and bake at 170°C for about 15 to 20 minutes until light golden (do a pressure test). Mix the warm applesauce (or preheated applesauce) with the cake glaze and spread onto the warm dough. Beat the egg whites with the sugar until stiff peaks form and spread onto the slightly set applesauce (it’s best to use a cake frame). Sprinkle with flaked almonds and return to the oven for another 10 minutes. If necessary, bake with a little more top heat.
