Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 large onions
  • 100 g cracklings – lard
  • 800 g kale (frozen)
  • 500 ml water
  • Salt and pepper, black
  • 1 pinch(s) allspice
  • 1 tbsp mustard, hot
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 250 g bacon (belly bacon), streaky
  • 500 g smoked pork
  • 500 g sausages (Mettwurst)
  • 500 g meat sausage
  • 4 tbsp oat flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Sauté finely chopped onions and oatmeal in lard. Add chopped kale and cover with water. When the kale is tender, stir in pepper, mustard, allspice, and sugar. Simmer gently for 1.5 hours. Add the meat and cook for another 30 minutes. Finally, add the pork sausage, oatmeal, and sausages, seasoning with a little salt. Serve with fried or boiled potatoes. Serve with a beer and a schnapps.
