Kasseler on Czech Sauerkraut with Horseradish Mashed Potatoes
The perfect kasseler on czech sauerkraut with horseradish mashed potatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 Discs Back slices of smoked ham / cured and smoked à 150 g
- 500 g Czech sauerkraut (frozen / own production / see my recipe *)
- 400 Potatoes
- 1 Onion approx. 100g
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 4 tsp Cream horseradish from the jar
- 4 big pinches Coarse sea salt from the mill
- 2 Stalk Maggi cabbage for garnish
- Let Kassler and Czech sauerkraut simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes. Possibly add a little water. Peel and dice the onion. Peel and wash the potatoes and cook them with the onion cubes for about 20 minutes, drain through a kitchen sieve and pour in a hot saucepan with butter (2 tablespoons) and cream horseradish (4 teaspoons) and coarse sea salt from the mill (4 big pinches) with the potato masher work through / stamp through well. Serve Kassler on Czech sauerkraut with horseradish mashed potatoes, garnished with Maggi cabbage
